Remembrance of the Daleks and Ace:

Sophie Aldred was the special guest at the
Whoovers October meeting.
Sophie played the Doctor's Assistant
"Ace" in, amongst other stories,
"Remembrance of the Daleks".

Derek is a exact replica of
The Supreme Dalek
which appeared in that story.

Above: After the welcoming applause died down Derek spring to life "You are Ace the Doctor's Assistant you are an enemy of the Daleks" etc.
Which made Sophie jump! She said it was a good job she hadn't brought her baseball bat!

Sophie was an excellent guest and spoke with incredible enthusiasm about her role as Ace and about Doctor Who in general. I think she was impressed with Steve's well prepared questions and she certainly enjoyed the clips he showed especially an early appearance of hers in character on Pebble Mill at One. She had a very positive outlook on life and could have easily entertained us for longer. She also displayed great patience whilst signing autographs and posing for photographs for the eighty two fans (excluding the Dalek) that turned up. This was a record breaking attendance for a Whoovers meeting.
