New Series Gold Dalek

St. Filumena's Catholic Primary School at Caverswall near Stoke-on-Trent invited Derek to their annual school fete on July 3rd 2005.

A modified set was erected in the school hall and Derek delighted the children by dashing out now and then with his gun issuing smoke and shouting "exterminate" etc.

Once again the audience mistakenly thought they were safe behind a safety rope....

Carol from the PTA was busy taking pictures whilst San once again kindly assisted as set builder and child coercer!

Visitors will have the chance to meet a life-size Dalek and have their photograph taken with it.

Nigel Shaw, who owns the Dalek, said: "With the return of the series to the BBC the Daleks are now delighting a whole new generation of fans.

"I recently took the Dalek to one of the stations on the Churnet Valley Railway, and it was extremely popular."

Headteacher at St Filumena's, Mike Wheatley, also intends to make a donation to The Donna Louise Trust which runs the Treetops Children's Hospice at Trentham, Stoke-on-Trent.

Mr Wheatley said: "Last year a Star Wars Storm Trooper made an appearance at the school and I think that the Dalek will also be a big hit with the children. Please come along to the fete and if you are brave enough you can, for a small donation, have your picture taken with the Dalek, so don't forget to bring your camera."
